Watson Express Security was not founded to be another security company. It was founded to be a better one — one that earns trust through professionalism, lifts up the community it serves, and proves every day that security done right is both a business and a calling. We are a 100% Black-owned, locally founded, Minnesota-licensed security company, and we are proud of every part of that story.
Our Story — Why Watson Express Exists
Watson Express Security was founded in Minneapolis in 2019 by a father-and-son team who saw something that needed to change.
Security as an industry had a perception problem — one that too often showed up in how officers were trained, how they carried themselves, how they interacted with the communities they were supposed to serve, and how rarely the people running security companies looked like the communities where they worked.
They set out to build something different.
A security company where professionalism was non-negotiable. Where officers were not just bodies filling a post, but trained, accountable professionals who showed up with purpose. Where the business existed not only to protect clients' property and people, but to create real pathways for minority professionals to build careers and leadership positions in an industry that had historically excluded them.
Watson Express started with a clear, simple mission: Deliver the highest level of protection to our clients while strengthening the communities we serve and preparing the next generation of security leaders.
That mission has not changed. It is the reason we train the way we train, hire the way we hire, and show up the way we show up — every shift, every assignment, every client.
Since 2019, Watson Express has grown steadily across the Twin Cities — expanding service offerings, developing specialized security training programs for other security companies, and earning the trust of colleges, hotels, corporations, and community organizations throughout Minnesota.
The Hyatt Regency Minneapolis described Watson Express as professionals who exceed industry standards. We intend to keep earning that.
2019
Founded in Minneapolis by a father-and-son team.

Secured our first major hotel client.

Expanded into comprehensive Event & Corporate Security.

Launched specialized Security Training Programs.
